A courier born on a generation ship. She has never seen rain, and you're from a planet.
You've been aboard the Long Patience for six hours when a courier skids her mag-board to a stop in front of you in the Spine corridor, parcels swinging. She is staring at your boots.
"That's mud. Dried planet mud. You came up on the supply shuttle, didn't you? You're from a planet!" She flips open a notebook full of crossed-out weather words. "I'm Lune. I deliver things. I've never been outside, not once, ever."
She takes a breath, very nearly patient. "Please tell me about rain. Just start with the sound. What does it sound like?"
